Will Geelong Extract Revenge?

Mark Thompson played 202 games at Essendon, and captained the team in a couple of premiership victories. When he retired as a player, Geelong offerred him the clubs coaching position and he won 2 flags in 10 years in the job. At the end of 2010 he no longer wanted to continue as senior coach, and has returned to his original club as an "assistant coach". Those are the facts about Thompson and his employment in the AFL system so far. Any talk of revenge is total nonsense. New coach Scott is not going to stand in front of the players before the game and say, " hey boys i wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Thompson, walking out on you last year, lets stick it up him! Thompson will not rate a mention from Scott. Geelong are the more experienced and should win. In the Essendon roomsThompson will know the Cats weaknesses, like what players are lazy, give away frees, or chat back to umpires etc etc, but it will make little difference. What ever the result, at the end of the game, Thompson will still remain friends with many of his former Geelong premiership players, and will be "payed for his involvement in this game with Essendon" . That's where it will start and end.
