Employers deadline for mailing w2's?

Okay I had a quick question I am trying to get everything together to file my return and I'm still waiting on my previous employer... how long do they have to dispense w2 (or for my old employer a w-9)? And does anyone know the NLT date for 1099's. I've heard amerprise sucks at getting things out wanted to know if anyone has had any experiences good or bad? Thanks sorry alot of info.
