What do you think should be the united states military's next standard issue rifle (besides current M16)?

I personally think the FN SCAR more specifically the heavier 7.62 NATO round version would be ideal for the military's needs. The SCAR comes in multiple variants from CQB to long range and even sniper models are in development and could easily fill the role as the work horse for the military replacing the M 16 (though I doubt the military will get rid of the M 16 family any time soon)
