Parallellism in modern bibles. Have you ever compared the temptation of Jesus in Matthew and Luke?
Both Matthew Chapter 4 and Luke Chapter 4 have written accounts of the devil tempting Jesus Christ. I used to study both the NLT and KJV, but I stopped using the NLT after being enlightened about it's origin. If you look at verse 4 in both stated books in the AV1611, you see that Christ is quoting Deuteronomy 8:3 "Man does not live by bread alone"--but if you look at Luke 4:4 not only in the NLT, but the NIV, NASB, NIRV, Message Bible, NCV, HSCB, and countless others take off "but by every word of God." Just think about someone who might may come across Luke 4:4 and questions what does man live by if it's not by bread alone? Another example is that we know that David killed Goliath. But if you compare 2 Samuel 21:19 and 1 Chronicles 20:5 in the NLT, but the NIV, NASB, NIRV, Message Bible, NCV, HSCB, and countless others except the AV1611 you'll see that they don't match. For in 2 Samuel 21:19 they say Elhanan killed Goliath the Gittite and 1 Chronicles 20:5 says that Elhanan killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite. It took the NIV committee 27 years to correct those scriptures. Do the translators of these morden version really know the Word of God? Are the NIV and other modern versions really reliable with these obvious errors? Do you still feel the same about the modern versions that you use? Look them up and compare on www.biblegateway.com/passage.
