What versions of the bible are best for reading and studying?

I am trying to decide between the NLT version (seen here: a href="http://www.nltstudybible.com/04_formats/formats.asp)," rel="nofollow"http://www.nltstudybible.com/04_formats/…/a NIV, and NKJV. I want a study bible that can be easily read, but maintains the original meaning. I don't like KJV. Thanks!
